Zeal Church was founded in November 2014 in Leipzig by the leading pastors René and Deborah Wagner. From the beginning, the vision for the church was not just one for Leipzig, but for the whole region of Eastern Germany. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no Christmas Eve service with a large number of people was possible. Therefore the entire celebration was pre-produced in a live-on-tape multi-camera production and then broadcast on Zealchurch.de on Christmas Eve.
